Our method

TheSlimSchool starts where other programmes end - with the post-diet phase. Long-term (2 years and beyond) studies indicate that only 15% of people keep off the weight they lost while dieting.

So why make all the effort? TheSlimSchool programme teaches you first, how to keep the weight off and then lets you start dieting once you have had enough time to integrate whichever rules you have chosen into your daily habits.

The replacement method

Many diet formulas encourage their followers to take drastic measures: from spare ribs to carrots; from a close and cuddly relationship with the couch to daily aerobics.

TheSlimSchool supports replacement, from nutritionally weak foods to similar, healthier alternatives - from hash browns to scrambled eggs, from doughnuts to berry crumble, from chips to popcorn, from pizza to steak.
While the latter food choices do not taste radically different to your palate, nutritionally they represent another world, and we will explain all the reasons why.

Each of TheSlimSchool's recommendations can influence roughly between 2–10% of your daily energy intake/expenditure. If a single recommendation can, for example, help you eat 3% less, or burn your calories 3% more effectively, should you bother?

YES. Because TheSlimSchool programme provides you with 70 concrete recommendations. While the recommendations may not add up in a linear fashion (our bodies being too complex for that) if you commit and stick to just about 5 of them, you can maintain your weight effortlessly.

TheSlimSchool offers you a method to create, reinforce and keep lifelong habits.
Because losing fat is not only about choosing the right strategy, but, more importantly, about sticking to whichever strategy you choose.

It takes time to adopt a habit and make it yours, long-term. The initial core weight management course takes four months, about the shortest possible time to anchor several habits, but during the 12-month subscription, we strongly recommend to follow-up on your habits with the help of our dashboard.
Repetition may be boring, yet it is the best way to achieve long-term results.

TheSlimSchool approach gives you, at a very reasonable price, an alternative to a personal coach.
We have created a method that is fact-based, flexible and feasible. What does it mean?

Fact based

TheSlimSchool brings you the latest scientific evidence on what works and, just as importantly, what does NOT. While many other diet methods are based on broad principles – eat less sugar, get more protein - TheSlimSchool will tell you concretely, in a detailed step-by-step manner, how to ‘train’ yourself in order to achieve and maintain fat loss over time.

Flexible

TheSlimSchool caters to different life situations, by offering a number of recommendations and diets for you to choose from. You only commit to steps suitable for your lifestyle. In fact, out of the 70 recommendations, you need to commit to only about five to ten in order to start losing weight.

The main start-up advice is to NOT try to implement too many recommendations at once. Even when you implement just ONE small change every week, you will have made 52 changes in a year - and that’s too many to stick to long-term. Implement a change every 2 weeks and you will end up with more than 2 dozen changes in a year! This will be enough to stabilize, and then lose weight.

Feasible

The more difficult it is to follow a diet or a sports programme, the more quickly we give up.
You should implement only changes that do not require putting major organisational and social restraints on your life. This is also why we have simplified our online tools to the maximum. There’s no tedious calorie or points counting, but an easy follow-up with a personal dashboard.

Our diet recommendations do not require you to eat less, but to eat differently, and most of the lessons related to movement and energy expenditure do not require you to go to the gym.

TheSlimSchool recipes are incredibly simple and take on the average 15 minutes to cook - 15 minutes being the about the maximum time that we are ready to wait for a healthy dinner before reaching for that tempting bag of chips.

As an extra treat, you will find half a dozen recommendations on how to slash your daily calorie balance by several points without any effort AT ALL.
